Every service is personalised, so final costs may vary depending on venue and individual choices. We are always happy to provide a no obligation quote.

*If you’re considering a Simple Farewell, it’s worth checking with your chosen venue that they’re comfortable having a coffin present. Most are happy to accommodate this, and we can help guide you through the conversation.

**Burial plot and interment fees are not included and paid directly to the cemetery.

Hi, I’m Matt.

After 20 years working in finance, the loss of a dear friend changed the direction of my life. In that moment, I realised I wanted to do work that truly mattered, work that supported people through one of life’s most difficult times and honoured each life in a meaningful, personal way.

I left the corporate world and retrained as a funeral director and celebrant here in Sydney. Today, I work closely with families to create thoughtful and heartfelt farewells that reflect the person being remembered.

While grief is very real, I believe a funeral can also be a space for comfort, connection and even moments of gentle lightness; the stories, music and memories that remind us of who someone truly was.

At Idyllic Funerals, my role is to guide you through the process with care and clarity. I take care of the practical details, help you navigate decisions, and work with you to shape a service that feels right for your family. Often it’s the small things; a favourite song, a personal story, or a meaningful detail, that make a farewell truly special.

I would like to express my deepest and most heartfelt thanks to Matt Morgan of Idyllic Funerals, for the extraordinary compassion, kindness and care shown to my family following the passing of our beautiful Mum (Julianna) at 97 years of age. From the very first phone call, I knew that I was speaking to someone who genuinely cared. The warmth and empathy in Matt’s voice immediately gave me a sense of comfort at a time when I was feeling overwhelmed with sadness. That first conversation meant more to me than you may ever realise. Losing Mum after 97 years of life was incredibly emotional for our whole family. I felt reassured knowing that Mum was being cared for and that her final farewell was in such compassionate hands.  What touched me most was the genuine empathy Matt showed throughout the entire process. He understood that this wasn't simply a funeral to arrange — this was our Mum, someone we had loved for our entire lives, and we were saying goodbye to a very special part of our family. Matt’s kindness allowed me to focus on what really mattered: being together, remembering Mum, sharing our memories and giving her the beautiful farewell she deserved. My family and I will always remember the care and compassion Matt and his team showed us during one of the most difficult times in our lives. Your professionalism was exceptional, but it was Matt’s warmth, humanity and genuine kindness that made such a lasting impression on us, especially me. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for looking after Mum and for looking after us. You helped make an incredibly painful time a little easier, and we will always be grateful for that.
