Your Funeral Director
Hi, I’m Matt.
After 20 years working in finance, the loss of a dear friend changed the direction of my life. In that moment, I realised I wanted to do work that truly mattered, work that supported people through one of life’s most difficult times and honoured each life in a meaningful, personal way.
I left the corporate world and retrained as a funeral director and celebrant here in Sydney. Today, I work closely with families to create thoughtful and heartfelt farewells that reflect the person being remembered.
While grief is very real, I believe a funeral can also be a space for comfort, connection and even moments of gentle lightness; the stories, music and memories that remind us of who someone truly was.
At Idyllic Funerals, my role is to guide you through the process with care and clarity. I take care of the practical details, help you navigate decisions, and work with you to shape a service that feels right for your family. Often it’s the small things; a favourite song, a personal story, or a meaningful detail, that make a farewell truly special.
