At Idyllic Funerals, our experienced celebrant, Matt Morgan, works closely with you to either attend and deliver a service you’re already organising, or if you need help, he can design a service that captures the essence of your loved one. From selecting readings, music, and rituals to helping with speeches and storytelling, we ensure every element of the ceremony is meaningful and respectful.
We respect all cultural, spiritual, and personal traditions, and our celebrants can conduct services in a wide variety of locations. Whether it’s a chapel, place of worship, park, beach, surf club, golf club, or even your own home, we’ll help you create a setting that feels right for your family.

Hi, I’m Matt. After 20 years in the finance industry, I experienced the heartbreaking loss of a dear friend, and everything shifted. I realised I wanted to do work that truly mattered. That helped people. That honoured lives.
So I left the corporate world behind and became funeral director and celebrant in Sydney. These days, as an independent funeral director in Marrickville, I help families say goodbye with grace, warmth, and yes, a touch of lightness. I believe funerals don’t have to be gloomy to be meaningful. They can be uplifting, personal, even beautiful.
