Frequently asked
questions
What should I do when a loved one passes away?
Contact us as soon as you’re able. We’ll guide you through the next steps, whether the death occurred at home, in a hospital, or elsewhere.
How much does a funeral cost?
Our funeral services start from approximately $3,000.
There are a range of options available, and we’re here to guide you every step of the way. We offer flexible arrangements and will work closely with you to create a plan that suits your needs and budget.
What types of funeral services do you offer?
We offer a range of funeral and memorial services, including:
Traditional funerals
A full-service ceremony with a coffin present, followed by burial or cremation.
Direct cremation
A simple, unattended cremation, ideal for private goodbyes or a later memorial.
Memorial service
Held after cremation or burial, with space for storytelling, music and remembrance.
Rite of passage funerals
Deeply personalised ceremonies that honour the person’s life journey, values and legacy.
Can we personalise the service?
Yes. Every life is unique, and every farewell should be too. We’ll help you include personal touches like music, poetry, rituals, or cultural traditions to reflect your loved one’s personality.
Can we keep a body at home following death?
For some people, keeping the body of a loved one at home for a number of days following their death can bring great comfort in a time of grief. Whether for religious reasons such as holding vigil, or simply to wash, dress, and share the space with them, it can be a very special time. We can help with the necessary arrangements including things like a cooling plate or bed.
Are there any legalities from the time of death to holding the funeral?
No is the simple answer. There are no regulations that stipulate the funeral must be held within a particular time after the death has occurred. Each situation is different, with a range of practical and religious considerations that can have an impact. We will help organise a timing that best suits your particular needs.
What can we do with the ashes?
There are many meaningful options:
Scatter them in a special place
Inter them in a cemetery or crematorium
Keep a small amount in an urn or memorial keepsake
We’re here to help you find what feels right.
Can we hold a service without the body or ashes?
Absolutely. You can hold a memorial service or celebration of life anywhere that feels meaningful: at home, in nature, or a community space.
How soon does the funeral need to happen?
Most funerals happen within 1–2 weeks. We’ll work with you to find a time that works best for your family, while respecting any cultural or personal preferences.
Do you offer eco-friendly or green funeral options?
Yes. We provide natural burial and environmentally conscious options, including biodegradable caskets and urns.
Do you offer grief support?
Yes. Our care doesn’t stop at the service. We can connect you with local grief counsellors, support groups and resources to help you navigate the days and months ahead.
Can you help with repatriation?
Yes, we can help bring your loved one home if they passed away abroad, or arrange transportation to another country.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. We believe in transparent pricing and will clearly outline all costs upfront.
Can you help with pre-planning a funeral?
Yes. We offer pre-planning services that allow you to outline your wishes in advance, easing the burden on loved ones later.
What is a prepaid funeral and how does it work?
A prepaid funeral allows you to plan and pay for your funeral in advance, locking in today’s prices and easing the financial and emotional burden on your loved ones. You can tailor the service to your wishes, and payments are securely held in a registered funeral bond. Prepaying gives peace of mind, knowing your arrangements are taken care of.
